  • Vodka: I like to use good quality vodka like Tito’s for my cocktails. You can substitute gin or rum if you’d like.

Step 1: fill shaker with ice

I love to make all of my cocktails in a shaker. You can skip this step and just stir them together if you don’t have one. To start, just fill up a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.

Step 2: sugar the rim

This step is optional, but adds a fun look to your cocktail. Just rub a lime around the rim of the cocktail glass. Then dip the rim in sugar.

Step 3: add in the ingredients and shake

To the shaker, add in vodka, rhubarb simple syrup, and lime juice. Put the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.

Step 4: strain and garnish

Fill a cocktail glass with ice and strain the drink into the glass. Now you can serve as is or top with sparkling water. Garnish with a lime.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to make a Rhubarb Martini?

A rhubarb martini is just a combination of vodka or gin, rhubarb infused simple syrup, and lime juice. Shake it together and pour into a chilled martini glass.

Why do I need to use a cocktail shaker?

A cocktail sharer will mix the drink and allow for quicker cooling of the drink before serving. It also dilutes the drink slightly from the melting of the ice. If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, you can just stir well with ice before serving.
