Cherry Scones

Easy recipe made with dried cherries and a simple almond glaze!

Cherry Scones are the perfect breakfast treat or afternoon tea recipe. Made with dried cherries and a simple almond glaze, these scones are ready in just 30 minutes!

Just a few ingredients: flour, butter, baking soda, baking powder, salt, egg, dried cherries, almond extract, sugar, and sour cream.

Start by whisking together the sour cream, egg, and almond extract. Set  the mixture aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. Use a box grater to grate in very cold butter.

Use your fingertips to blend the ingredients until just combined. Add in the dried cherries.

Pour in the sour cream mixture and mix together using a fork until just combined.

Pour the dough onto a floured surface and shape into a disk. Cut into eight wedges.

Bake at 400 degrees for 16-17 minutes or until light golden in color. Cool before adding the glaze.

For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, heavy cream, and almond extract until smooth.

Drizzle the glaze over top of the cooled scones and let sit until the glaze firms up.
