Cinnamon Buttercream Frosting

Apple Spice Cake with Cinnamon Buttercream Frosting is made with real apple chunks and applesauce. This moist and flavorful cake is a true recipe perfected!

In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients including: flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

To the same bowl, add in the eggs, oil, applesauce, and vanilla and mix with until well combined.

Fold in the peeled, seeded and diced apple. Honey Crisp or Granny Smith work great here.

Pour the batter into two greased and lined cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

Once the cakes have cooled, add on the cinnamon butter cream frosting. Start with the bottom layer.

Add on the second layer and spread the frosting over the tops and sides of the cake.

Use a spatula to scrape the sides, exposing part of the layers. Add extra frosting to the top of the cake and spread.
