Why This Recipe Works!

This S’mores Fudge recipe is so special because it is packed with the chocolate, marshmallow, graham cracker flavors you love. Plus, rather than having all of the flavors mixed in, here you get layers just like you would with a classic s’more.

The bottom and top layer are made with crushed graham crackers, giving the appearance and feel of an actual s’more treat. Then, half of the fudge is spread with a whole layer of mini marshmallows in the middle.

S’mores Fudge is also so much easier and less messy to make than campfire s’mores, with no flame required! They are always a hit at parties and are great for gifting.

The fudge for this recipe is also simple to make and is heated in the microwave rather than a double boiler. Which means less mess and delicious fudge in no time.

One bite and I guarantee you’ll fall in love with this recipe. S’mores Fudge is a fun recipe with classic flavors that are always a crowd pleaser.

Ingredients

S’mores Fudge is made with chocolate chips, graham crackers, sweetened condensed milk, mini marshmallows, butter, and vanilla.

  • Chocolate: semi sweet chocolate chips are preferred in this recipe. Because you are adding sweetened condensed milk, you don’t want a super sweet chocolate. Dark chocolate chips would also be a good choice here.
  • Mini Marshmallows: use mini marshmallows here since they are being layered in the fudge.
  • Graham Crackers: it’s better to make your own graham cracker crumbs rather than buying the store-bought crumbs since you want some larger chunks of cracker. Place the graham crackers in a zip top bag and break up gently using a pan or rolling pin.

How to Make S’mores Fudge

Easy to make S’mores Fudge is always a crowd favorite. With layers of graham crackers, fudge and mini marshmallows, you’re going to love how tasty and simple this recipe is to make.

To start, place the graham crackers in zip top bag and smash with a rolling pin or pan until they are slightly broken. You don’t want fine crumbs here. Line a 9 x 13 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper; set aside.

Next, make the fudge. In a large microwave safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, softened butter, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla. Microwave the fudge for 3-4 minutes at 50 percent, stopping to stir every 30 seconds until fudge is just melted.

Step 1: Once the fudge and graham crackers are prepared you can start layering. Place half of the graham crackers on the bottom of the lined pan and spread evenly. Then, dollop on half of the fudge mixture and gently spread so that it covers the graham cracker crumbs. Don’t worry about it covering completely.

Step 2: Sprinkle the mini marshmallows on top of the fudge mixture. You can use more or less marshmallows depending on your preference. You want a layer of them evenly distributed on the fudge.

Step 3: Dollop on the remaining fudge and use a rubber spatula to spread it on over the marshmallows.

Step 4: Sprinkle on the remaining graham cracker crumbs. Use a rubber spatula or your hands to gently press the graham crackers so they adhere to the fudge layer.

Refrigerate the fudge for 2-3 hours or until the fudge is firm and set. The longer you can have it sit, the better.

Use the parchment paper to remove the fudge from the pan and cut into squares.

Recipe Tips

  • Don’t over crush the graham crackers. You want some larger pieces in there.
  • Microwave the fudge at 50% and stir every 30 seconds until just melted. Be careful not to over cook the fudge or you could risk ruining it.
  • Don’t panic if it seems you don’t have enough fudge for the bottom layer! It doesn’t have to cover the graham crackers perfectly.
  • Dollop on the fudge and spread using a rubber spatula. Use half the fudge for the bottom layer and half for the top.
  • Chill the S’mores Fudge for at least 2 hours before cutting. If you can chill for 4 hours or overnight, even better.
